About

Jennifer Hsiung is currently co-anchor for Toronto's most watched morning show, CP24 Breakfast, which airs live Monday to Friday from 6 am to 9 am. She also cohosts CP24 Live at Noon. Headquartered at the iconic 299 Queen St. West building,  CP24 covers local news from the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario, as well as national and international news. Owned by Bell Media (which also owns CTV News Toronto, BNN Bloomberg, CTV National and CTV News Channel), it is Canada's only 24 hour news channel and has become one of the most watched in Canada.

Jennifer joined the CP24 family in September of 2020, and started out as a weekend anchor and reporter on a mat leave contract, often filling in to host the CP24 Breakfast show.  She joined the CP24 Breakfast team in November of 2021.

Jennifer moved back to Toronto from Beijing in 2018 with her family, after having lived in Beijing, China for a total of 10 years. She is known for her work at CCTV's English-language international network, CGTN (China Global Television Network). From the Academy Awards, film festivals and major Fashion Weeks, the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, to the inauguration of Barack Obama and the 2017 G20 Summit, Jennifer has covered a rich and diverse spectrum of global and national news events.

The Toronto native first moved to Beijing in 2006, and joined CCTV as a sports anchor. In the summer of 2008, she covered the country's first-ever summer Olympic Games, and enhanced exposure to the Games by being one of the first few to report from many of the city's newly constructed Olympic venues, such as the iconic Bird's Nest Stadium and The Water Cube.

Hsiung also co-anchored for the network's flagship arts and entertainment program, Culture Express (broadcast live Monday through Friday). She has conducted exclusive interviews with some of the world's top sports and entertainment figures such as Kobe Bryant, Yao Ming, Stephon Marbury and  American-born Chinese “King of Pop” Wang Leehom.

In 2015, the mother of three (who has always had a passion for performance arts and acting) started pursuing stand-up comedy in Beijing and has had early success. Hsiung recently made her televised comedy debut on Season 3 of Comedy Central's Stand-Asia!, which premiered on August 14th, 2018 in 19 countries across Asia. Two months after giving birth to her third son she competed in the 2017 Hong Kong International Comedy Competition and was the only female to reach the finals.

Hsiung is also a professional emcee. In 2016 she was the emcee for the Young Presidents Organization's (YPO) Beijing University, entitled “The Silk Road Reimagined”. In 2018, Hsiung served as emcee and moderator for the YPO “Edge” Global conference in Singapore, which was attended by Billie Jean King, the Prime Minister of Singapore and The Queen of Jordan

Since her return, Jennifer has performed stand-up comedy all over Toronto at venues such as The Rivoli, Comedy Bar, Absolute Comedy, Yuk Yuks (downtown), The Corner Comedy Club, and The Social Capital Theatre.

Hsiung is also a part of ACTRA. She played Ravager's mom Mei in season 2 of "Titans" (Netflix). You can also soon watch her as detective Jesse Hooper in all 13 episodes of "The Hardy Boys" (2020) on Hulu (December 4th, 2020 in the U.S.) and on YTV in Canada in 2021.
